Can I attend to see specific speakers only?
Unfortunately not. The format of TED and TEDx is a conference style event which invites you to engage in a wide range of diverse speakers and topics. We encourage the possibilities of learning something new and different!

ABOUT THE EVENT

 

When/Where/What time?
Friday 30 June at Katoomba Community Hall on 81-83 Katoomba St (also locally known as The Old Library). The conference starts at 9am for registration and ends by 6pm.

Are seats allocated?
No. Please follow the guidance of our volunteer ushers to be taken to available seats.

Is food provided?
No. There will be 2 coffee/tea breaks and a 90 min lunch break but food and drinks are not included in your ticket. The venue is located centrally on the main street in Katoomba where there is easy access to a wide variety of cafes and restaurants. We encourage you to support our local businesses.

Where can I park?
There are several options available. The Coles and Woolworths carparks are two large undercover car parks (access from 34 and 71 Parke St, Katoomba respectively) and 2 hour free street parking around Pryor Pl. Please consider travelling by public transport if possible. Katoomba Train Station is a 3-min walk to the TEDxKatoomba venue. 

What can I expect from the day?
It will be a day of learning about a wide variety of topical issues from a diverse range of passionate individuals and experts in their field, offering you their unique perspective.
The talks will all vary with each speaker but carry the distinct TED-style format of being succinct, inspiring and limited to 18 minutes.

Are you a not-for-profit organisation?
Yes. TEDxKatoomba is an event held by volunteers, where organisers have obtained a licence from TED. All ticket sales go back to the organisation and hosting of the event, and the post-production work of creating the final videos for TED.

ABOUT TICKETS

Why are tickets so limited?

The TED licence for the event sets a cap on number of live audience members.

Do you have any discounts?

Unfortunately not. Only full day conference tickets are available at the single price of $120 + booking fee.

What does my full day conference ticket include?
Access to attend the full day program of talks from 9am-6pm. Food and drinks are not included and will need to be purchased externally.

Can I attend the dinner/hike only?
The dinner and hike option is an added ticket option available to all conference attendees only. The aim is to create additional opportunities for discussion about the ideas presented on the day.

 

I've bought a conference ticket but would now like to buy a ticket for dinner/hike too. How do I do this?
Simply email tedxkatoomba@gmail.com for a special code to buy a dinner ticket or register for the hike.

Are my tickets refundable?
No. Please choose carefully as tickets are non-refundable.

I can’t make it anymore. Are my tickets transferable?
Yes, but you will need to contact tedxkatoomba@gmail.com to request for the transfer and change the name on the ticket in order to gain access to the conference.

I have a friend speaking. Can I get free tickets to support the speaker?

Unfortunately seats are very limited and complimentary tickets aren’t possible.
