TICKETS
Have your ticket/s ready (mobile or printed out) to show our Front of House staff when you arrive. 
If you have bought multiple tickets for a group and aren't arriving together, please ensure you email individual tickets to the respective person/s before the event. 
Each attendee will receive a wristband to wear during the event in order to gain access in and out of the venue all day.
 

ARRIVAL TIME
Doors open at 9am sharp for registration with a scheduled start time of 9:20am. We have a full day planned so ensure you arrive on time to avoid any delays. Seating is not allocated so please follow the guidance of our ushers.

A LIVE, FILMED EVENT
TEDx are live events, filmed for the purpose of creating a video for respective speakers that will eventually be hosted on the official TED channel for global access. This is an important aspect of the event as there won't be any video editing or another opportunity for speakers to do another take. We request that you be mindful of this and follow the guidelines of minimal noise and disruption on the day, including turning phones off or on silent. No food or snacks to be taken into the venue.

NO FILMING OF SPEAKERS ON STAGE
Filming of speakers when they're presenting on stage is strictly prohibited. 
 

VENUE
Katoomba Community Hall located on 81-83 Katoomba St.

ACCESSIBILITY
There are 2 ramps off the streets to the Hall - one from Katoomba St and the other from College Lane. There is a loading zone just in front of the centre on Katoomba St if you need to drop off a passenger. Please contact us if you have further accessibility requirements.

WHERE TO PARK
The closest car park to the venue is the Coles car park, accessed from 34 Park St, Katoomba (2 hours parking only). When you come up the escalators/lift, take the left exit in the centre towards Katoomba St. Almost all the peripheral streets have all day parking, and Katoomba is not a big town centre to walk across. Some streets include: Goldsmith Pl (commuter car parking lot), Waratah St, Cascade St and further up Katoomba St (heading towards Echo Point).

BREAKS & LUNCH
The day includes a 20-mins break, 90 mins lunch break and a 30-mins break. TEDxKatoomba is just off Katoomba St, where there are plenty of options for coffee, light bites and lunch.
Plan ahead and book at table at cafes that take reservations or pre-order your sandwich. Thank you for supporting our local businesses.

HELP US BE SUSTAINABLE - BYO WATER BOTTLE
TEDx events aim to be sustainable whenever possible so we encourage you to bring a water bottle along to keep hydrated. Water dispensers will be available for refills throughout the day.

A VOLUNTEER-DRIVEN EVENT
TEDx events are all volunteer-driven and TEDxKatoomba is no different. Please be respectful of our volunteers on the day who will be working hard to give you the best TEDx experience.
